Plastic Free July at BDO
At BDO Hungary we are committed to promoting and supporting sustainability. For this purpose, this year we launched our internal sustainability programme, which aims to raise awareness, to integrate sustainable practices into our daily operations and to set an example at the corporate level. As part of the programme, we organised a series of events called Plastic Free July, which aims to increase knowledge among BDO staff on the topics of zero waste and plastic-free practices.
We came, we saw, we won the BDO Global Sustainability Services Award
Our team, in addition to providing a high quality service to our clients, has put extra effort into deepening our international relationships. We conducted an international survey last year involving 9 BDO member countries and interviewing nearly 6,000 clients. We looked at how companies are doing when it comes to knowing and understanding the law, and what they are doing when it comes to sustainability.
Our Compliance team made the day of many, many four-legged companions brighter with a volunteer programme
Our compliance team spent an unforgettable day at the Árvácska animal shelter in Szentendre. The animal shelter is on a heroic mission as it runs on donations, feeding and caring for around 70-80 dogs and the same number of cats.

BDO Café - We discussed corporate sustainability with Ákos Veisz
In November 2023, we launched our BDO Café series, where our colleagues can broaden their knowledge on important topics affecting our firm, ask questions about current events to our firm's renowned experts, and build their relationships in a light, friendly conversation over a delicious coffee and breakfast. The third guest of our programme was Ákos Veisz, Managing Director of our ESG business unit, who explained the importance of ESG in business strategy making on the topic of corporate sustainability.
BDO "Waste Heroes" team in action
On 26 April, the BDO Waste Heroes team joined the TeSzedd! movement and volunteered to clean up the Terebesi Forest with the participation of BDO Sustainability Ambassadors, removing a total of 39 bags of rubbish. By taking part in this event, we wanted to contribute to the cleanliness of our environment and raise awareness about the importance of protecting the environment and the commitment to sustainability.
